In response to the queries we have had, Scrap-n-Crop.com and NOMI has devised a simple 3-step questions for you to self assess which level of photography classes will best suit you.

Beginners 1-day Photo+Photoshop Class

From majority of the paid responses, we have decided to hold only the Beginners 1-day Photo + Photoshop Class rather than the initial 3 options made available in the earlier listing HERE.

{ Unless there is a compelling reason (or we are able to find at least 6 people enrolled for the other two options) we will not be conducting the 1/2-Day session or the 1-Day Photo session. }

The GOOD NEWS is, from the time saved, we have persuaded NOMI to run other 1/2 Day Photography Sessions that focuses on areas of interest and would be extremely applicable to our scrapbooking and journaling needs. Further GOOD NEWS is, if you have enrolled in either the 1-Day Beginner's or Intermediate Photography Classes, you are entitled to a discount on these 1/2-Day add-ons Classes.

Syllabus: Beginner's Photography Add-Ons Classes

Confident in handling and taking good pictures with your camera now? Well, here's a chance to kick it up another notch by learning the tips, techniques and tricks to taking awesome travel, children and babies photography under normal conditions.

These 1/2 Day Beginner's Add-Ons Classes are suitable for just about anybody with some basic understanding of photography. You do NOT need to have enrolled in the 1-Day Beginner's Photography Class to qualify yourself to enrol in these classes. However, those that have enrolled in either the 1-Day Beginner's or Intermediate Photography Class* will enjoy a discount.

N.B.: The intermediate class is designed for photographers who have a good familiarity with an dSLR and are comfortable working with image-editing software. Participants who do not have understanding in Basic / Beginner’s Photography will not be able to ‘catch-up’ in this class although the syllabus covers Beginner’s Photography as a re-cap.

These 1/2 Day Intermediate Add-Ons Classes are intended for photographers who are already familiar SLR and image editing. This class is not recommended for novices as you will not be able to benefit fully from it. If you are already in the at the Intermediate or Advance standard you do NOT need to have enrolled in either the 1-Day Beginner's or Intermediate Photography Class to qualify yourself to enrol in these classes. In short, you do not need to have enrolled in any photography classes hosted by us - Scrap-n-Crop.com.

However, those that have enrolled in either the 1-Day Beginner's or Intermediate Photography Class* will enjoy a discount.

Featured ARTIST: NOMI

Based in the USA, British photographer - Nomi - life took a turn in 1995 when he was embedded in NATO to cover the Bosnian conflicts. The experience compelled him to leave his privilege background and eventually his postgraduate studies to specialize as a conflict and humanitarian photographer with the hope of making a difference to mankind.

Over the past 15 years, his images of war, disease, social issues and strife has been widely published globally.

Nomi devotes about 30% of his time yearly doing pro bono work for aid and humanitarian agencies. It is his work with UNICEF and World AIDS Day that brings him close to our shores; providing us this rare opportunity.

During his stay in SEA, Nomi will be working on a photo essay for the Selangor Spastic Centre, the Malaysian AIDS Council, UNICEF and commencing talks with Ti-Ratana Penchala Centre; all of which are very close to the hearts of volunteers in Scrap-n-Crop.com.

Nomi will be utilizing his extensive experiences in advertising, portraiture and runway photography to assist Scrap-n-Crop.com to raise funds for the Selangor Spastic Centre. 20% of proceeds made from photography classes and private photography session will be donated.

Learn tips + techniques on of post processing from professional British photographer - Nomi - this December 2008 - February 2009 to achieve the effect you always wanted: be it Indie, or Vintage.

Participants need not know any basic photoshop application as Nomi will go through all the basic steps from cropping to burning... all you need though is a notebook (PC or Mac) with a pre-loaded version of photoshop and digital photos as this will be a hands-on, actual application class. Please also bring along your digital camera ... we will be doing some shooting.
